Hey y’all,

In case you were wondering who the country singer guy is in the intro to the NFL Draft, well…it was me, Cody Webb. I feel honored to be featured in this segment that airs April 25, 26, and 27 2019 alongside athlete Alim Muhammed, and I had a blast filming it!

My journey as a musician in Nashville started when I moved to Music City from Ridge Spring, SC back in 2014 the year Kacey Musgraves released “Follow Your Arrow”, the NFL Draft was in New York City, and streaming music was becoming more and more popular.

When I was 12 years old, I played my first show at the South Carolina Poultry Festival. I remember watching the band that came on after us, DB Bryant, and just being completely blown away. I stood there — just taking it all in – thinking how cool it would be to sing and play guitar as good as this guy could. I chased that dream and never looked back.

After my move to Nashville, I was writing a lot. I met Luke Combs after first moving to town and we started writing songs together. At the time, neither of us had any idea of the success he was to have. We co-wrote, along with Ray Fulcher, “Memories Are Made Of” off of his Platinum record, This One is For You. Having a song on Luke’s album fulfilled my dream of having a song on a platinum record and really opened a lot of doors for me in this town. It was really cool to be a small part of a friend’s career and watch it take off.

Believe it or not, with all the crazy things going on with touring, releasing music, writing, etc., my life just got even crazier.  On April 14th, my wife, Hayley, gave birth to our first child, Josie Layne Webb.  I’ve heard my whole life that there’s nothing like having a kid, but man, I can’t even describe it.  I cried my eyes out when she was born and I just can’t get enough of her.  She’s awesome and I’m so in love with her.  Also, it was really cool that People Magazine exclusively announced her being born.  It took me my entire life to make it to People Magazine and her less than a day.  That’s how much cooler she is than me already… I can only imagine what things will be like when she’s a teenager.

I’ll be back on the road for the Gettin’ Somewhere Tour in May with shows in SC, NC, GA, IN, OH, CA, NY, MA, ME, CT and more. You can check out my full tour schedule here.

My new single, Gettin’ Somewhere is out now and you can listen to it on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Amazon and Google Play.

I am really excited for my song Jon Boat that is going to be released on June 14th, 2019. It’s going to be one of those summer anthems that you just want to listen to while you are out on a boat with friends, fishing and having fun!

Filming the NFL Draft Intro was an amazing experience and these athletes are incredible. It was cool to be featured along with athlete Alim Muhammed along with a country music icon, Dolly Parton, narrating the video! Looking forward to this football season!
